Sooin Traditional Embroidery Studio unveiled handcrafted silk ties inspired by Joseon royal robes (gonryongpo) and Admiral Yi Sun-sin’s sword at the Craft Trend Fair 2025 in Seoul. The “Dragon Procession: Gonryongpo Tie” features three traditional colors with gold and silver dragon embroidery; the “Hero: Yi Sun-sin Sword Tie” uses silver and red motifs and echoes inscriptions and wave patterns from the national treasure sword (National Treasure No. 341). Made from real hanbok silk and embroidered with traditional techniques, the pieces aim to reinterpret historic artifacts into practical, contemporary K-culture products showcased at the fair celebrating two decades of craft. (gonryongpo: traditional Joseon royal ceremonial robe; hanbok: traditional Korean clothing)
