Partners cite delayed payments, changed settlement terms (shorter payment cycles and sometimes 'prepayment before delivery') and internal instability at Homeplus—frequent staff changes and slow decisions—that have raised suppliers’ risk concerns. Many popular items (Samdasu, certain ice creams, breads, cheeses) were observed out of stock in stores. Homeplus has failed to attract bidders in its M&A process and has repeatedly extended its deadline to submit a recovery plan; it is facing worsening cash flow and is considering temporary closures of loss-making stores.
