The Chuncheon City Symphony Orchestra (principal conductor Song Yoo-jin) presented its 182nd regular concert, "Music, That Beautiful Period," at the Chuncheon Culture & Arts Center on the 5th as a year-end finale and a tribute to Camille Saint-Saëns' 190th birthday. The program opened with the Bacchanale from Saint-Saëns' opera Samson and Delilah, featuring a striking oboe solo, vivid percussion, and polished string tuning under Song's expansive conducting. Renowned piano duo ShinPark (Shin Mi-jung and Park Sang-wook) joined the orchestra for The Carnival of the Animals, with notable string color in "The Cock and Hen" and a graceful performance of "The Swan" with cellist Jeong Young-in; the duo encore was Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2. Organist Jo Jae-hyeok, a Chuncheon native, reunited with the orchestra to perform Symphony No. 3, offering impressive organ technique despite the hall lacking a full pipe organ; the performance delivered majestic, resonant climaxes and earned enthusiastic applause.
