Globally acclaimed Korean media artist Kim Ayoung has won the 'Golden Nica', a renowned international media art award, for her work 'Porosity Valley' showcased at an exhibition in Japan's Mori Art Museum. The piece, which depicts the speed-driven culture of Seoul through fictional narratives of a female delivery worker, struck a chord during the pandemic when Kim felt intense societal pressure in Seoul. Her compelling multimedia presentation will also be exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York this November. Kim is recognized for exploring new forms of art enabled by technological advancements, aiming to capture powerful dystopian themes through her unique lens.
