An invitational solo exhibition by artist Iseul runs at the Ayang Art Center lobby gallery from December 10 to February 28. The lobby gallery, an open corridor gallery created from the center’s academy hallway, has featured regional artists since September. Iseul draws on traditional Korean motifs—such as dalhangari (moon jar), giwajip (tiled roof houses), and minhwa (folk paintings)—and translates their spirit into contemporary works by using textured canvases, restrained composition, and muted color palettes. About 15 recent paintings are on view. The center says Iseul’s work offers viewers a personal “paradise” of happy memories and emotional energy to face daily life.
