Foreign Visitors Spend About 1.2 Million KRW Over Six Days in Busan, Food Tops Satisfaction

A Busan Tourism Organization survey of 1,060 foreign visitors found tourists stayed an average of 6.2 days in Busan, with 90.8% staying four days or more. Average spending per person was $828 (≈1,217,000 KRW), mainly on transport ($364.5), accommodation ($256.7) and shopping ($227.6). Most travelers came by plane (93.3%), stayed in hotels (78.9%, mainly 2–3 star), and traveled in small groups (avg. 2.8 people, often friends or couples). Leisure and rest was the main purpose (76%); reasons for choosing Busan included scenic nature (81.7%), food exploration (81.3%), cultural sites (73.6%) and beach leisure (67.6%). The activity giving the highest satisfaction was food tours (45.7%), followed by templet stay (템플스테이) experiences (8.9%). Top sites visited were Gwangalli Beach, Nampo-dong (Biff Square), Gamcheon Culture Village, Jagalchi (international) Market and Haeundae Beach. Overall satisfaction with Busan reached 99.3%.
