Samyang Foods closed its popular ‘Samyang1963’ pop-up store in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong after running from Oct. 28 to Nov. 4. Launched to celebrate the new premium ramen ‘Samyang1963,’ the pop-up focused on the noodles, broth and fat (wooji: rendered beef or pork fat used for flavor) rather than flashy staging, offering visitors a “fundamental ramen” experience. Reservations on Naver sold out quickly (all seven days booked within five minutes), and over 10,000 people visited, including MZ generation (Millennials and Gen Z), older age groups and foreign tourists. Daily waitlists formed before opening, averaging about 1,500 on-site registrations per day, and same-day spots often filled by evening. Visitors praised the taste, service and immersive presentation; many rated the tasting “very satisfied.” Popular features included serving the cooked Samyang1963 in a dedicated tumbler and a free tumbler-cleaning return program, which drove tumbler purchase inquiries. Samyang plans to expand experiential content and premium ramen programs based on the strong consumer response.
