Renowned pianists Won Jaeyeon (37) and Kim Suyeon (31), who married last year, met in Seoul after weeks apart due to individual concert schedules. Both maintain active solo careers—Won recently released a well-received album of Scarlatti works and serves as artistic director for youth ensembles and a Steinway amateur concert series, while Kim, praised for her Mozart recital album, performs upcoming recitals in Seoul and will record a new album and play Leipzig’s Gewandhaus next year. The couple’s relationship began in 2010 through shared teachers and Salzburg studies; they began dating in 2015. After popular surprise duo appearances this summer, they are discussing a formal duo recital series for next year, coordinating venues and schedules.
