Park Min-jung, CEO of Classic Busan, received the Performing Arts Management Award at the 16th Arts Management Awards held in Seoul. Park oversaw planning, operations, exhibitions, education and customer service at Seoul Arts Center for over 30 years, becoming the first woman to serve as a head of department and auditor. As leader of Classic Busan, she worked with artistic director Jung Myung-hoon to successfully open the Busan Concert Hall, achieving an 80% paid-seat rate and 100,000 cumulative attendees in its first year, and now chairs the regional culture promotion foundation. Conductor-pianist Kim Sun-wook won this year’s Performing Artist Award; he was the youngest and first Asian winner of the 2006 Leeds Competition and now serves as artistic director of the Gyeonggi Philharmonic. Joint winners of the Performance Planner Award were Kim Hyun-jung (Mok Productions) and Han Sang-hoon (Haman Culture & Arts Center) for broad programming, artist management and expanding classical music in regional communities. The Performing Arts Contribution Award went to Bucheon Art Center, a 1,445-seat venue with a large pipe organ and specialized acoustics that also operates a black-box small theater and hosted the 2025 FACP, strengthening East Asia’s classical music network.
