Pet beauty is emerging as a premium trend in Korea and abroad as owners treat companion animals like family. Social media videos showing elaborate canine care—facial cleanses, paw treatments, perfumes and even red-light therapy—are popularizing the “pet beauty” market (펫뷰티). Driven by pet humanization and emotional gift spending, product offerings now include high-performance shampoos, perfumes, red-light/PEMF therapies, oils and dry-shampoos marketed with clean/vegan claims. In Korea, the pet industry already exceeds 4 trillion KRW and is expected to reach 6 trillion by 2027; grooming and health-care segments are rapidly premiumizing with veterinarian collaboration, low-irritant natural formulas, and services like pet spas, customized grooming consultations and pet-hotel+beauty packages. Analysts say these products often meet emotional rather than strictly medical needs, but rising demand for allergy- and skin-trouble solutions is also fueling functional product growth. Overall, pet beauty is shifting from simple grooming to a lifestyle and wellness category that elevates both pets’ and owners’ daily lives.
