BEXCO in Busan Generates About 2.58 Trillion Won Annually for Local Economy

BEXCO, Busan’s exhibition and convention center, marked its 30th anniversary and released a study showing it creates roughly 2.581 trillion won in annual production-induced economic impact. The center’s MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) events stimulate lodging, tourism, transportation and other local industries, producing 1.098 trillion won in added-value effects, 576.1 billion won in income effects, and supporting about 22,147 jobs. BEXCO also conducted a first-of-its-kind study among Korean convention centers on social and cultural spillovers, confirming its role as a key platform for regional social and cultural development.
