bhc, a South Korean fried chicken chain, announced it has officially launched its new menu item 'Kwasakking' in Hong Kong and Thailand. The brand chose Hong Kong (a global food trend hub and site of bhc’s first overseas store in 2018) and Thailand (a Southeast Asian culinary center) as launch bases. Since its domestic debut in February, Kwasakking sold 5.3 million pieces in nine months and ranks among bhc’s top sellers alongside 'Bburinkle' and 'Machoking'. The product features an extra-crispy crumble made from potato, corn and rice for intense crunch. In Hong Kong, bhc will offer a combo of wings and drumettes (popular bone-in cuts) and a boneless drumstick option, plus a variety of dipping sauces. bhc plans to expand Kwasakking to Singapore, Malaysia, the U.S. and other overseas markets next year, and is considering launching the new sweet chili seasoned chicken 'Sweet Chili King' globally. bhc says Kwasakking is a strategically tested menu to help showcase the diverse appeal of K-chicken worldwide.
