At the 12th Edaily Culture Awards in Seoul, winners of excellence and special awards (excluding the grand prize) shared gratitude and reflections. Theatre director Lee Cheol-hee said the award deepens his understanding of life and marks artistic maturity. Kim Seong-yong of the National Contemporary Dance Company thanked the choreographer, dancers and audience, pledging to keep bringing diverse contemporary values through dance. Yoo Eun-seon of the National Changgeuk Company (Korean traditional opera) called the prize encouragement to preserve tradition while questioning the present and connecting tradition to the future. Producer Shin Chun-soo noted the musical The Great Gatsby’s international journey from Broadway and the West End to Seoul, emphasizing cross-border artistic collaboration. Indie band Jannabi dedicated their concert award to staff and fans (JF), celebrating the teamwork behind performances. Lifetime achievement winner Song Seung-hwan expressed gratitude to colleagues and vowed to repay the support he received. Frontier awardee Choi Ho-jong spoke of dance as a bodily creative journey and shared the honor with fellow dancers pursuing new stages. Playwright Park Cheon-hyu described his work as “art for life,” thanking collaborators and promising to continue making warm, empathetic art. The ceremony took place at Seoul’s Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, with winners and presenters posing for photos.
