Lotte Cultural Foundation’s music festival 'Classic Revolution 2025' won the grand prize at the 12th Edaily Culture Awards, recognized for popularizing classical music in Korea. Launched in 2020, the summer festival reached its sixth edition, drawing renowned domestic and international artists during the classical off-season. This year’s program, led artistically by violinist-conductor Leonidas Kavakos, highlighted works by Bach and Shostakovich and featured performers such as violinist Yang In-mo, soprano Hwang Su-mi, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, and Gyeonggi Philharmonic. Judges praised the festival for delivering both universality and contemporary relevance through passionate performances. The award marks the first time a classical program has taken the top prize since 2017. Lotte Foundation officials said they will continue efforts to preserve the essence of classical music while making it accessible to more people.
