Sejong Cyber University’s Barista & Sommelier Department will run a winter “certification intensive” course to train F&B professionals with practical credentials. The program offers five certifications: sommelier, wine advisor, brewer (yangjosa - traditional Korean liquor brewer), Tea Sommelier Level 2, and SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) Barista Skills. Faculty lead a blended approach combining online theory and in-person practical workshops to maximize short-term learning. The SCA certificate follows international coffee standards, while the brewer and wine advisor tracks respond to growing traditional liquor and wine market trends. The department aims to help students turn interests into concrete qualifications through its blended learning system covering coffee, roasting, wine, sake, and traditional Korean alcohol (jeontongju).
