BlackYak, a high-performance global outdoor brand from Korea, won three awards at ISPO Munich 2025, becoming the only Korean brand to earn a triple crown at the world’s largest sports trade fair. The wins bring BlackYak’s cumulative ISPO awards to 36 and mark a third consecutive year of recognition. The awards honored two expedition suits developed by BlackYak’s German R&D center — the lightweight, hybrid-insulated “DNS Watusi Light Expedition Suit” (1,200g) with strong warmth, quick drying, breathability and ergonomic patterning for mountaineering — and the “DNS Javari G2 Gore‑Tex Suit,” a fully waterproof, ultralight 3-layer shell designed for harness compatibility and a minimalist look. The third award went to a Korea-developed trail running shoe, the “Sky Arrow D TR,” featuring a tire-inspired durable outsole and BOA performance-fit dynamic wrap technology for precise foot fit and improved stability on rough terrain. The shoe will launch domestically in February and spearheads BlackYak’s push into the trail-running market. Company leadership says the ISPO success validates their tech-driven, field-tested approach and supports plans for global brand positioning and localized distribution.
