The 12th Edaily Culture Awards will be held today at 7 PM at Seoul’s Sejong Center Grand Theater to honor standout works across six performing-arts categories: theater, classical, dance, gugak (traditional Korean music), musical, and concert. From the six category winners one will be chosen as the grand prize recipient based on a combined jury, online, and office score. This year’s category winners include 'Yutnori' (theater), 'Classic Revolution 2025' (classical), 'What I Saw in the Water' (dance), 'Simcheong' (gugak), 'The Great Gatsby' (musical), and 'All the Boys and Girls 2125' (concert). Special awards will recognize lifetime contributions — notably producer-director Song Seung-hwan for 60 years in performance and Nanta — and the rising K-dance choreographer Choi Ho-jong. Composer-playwright Park Chun-hyu, the first Korean to win a Tony Award for the musical 'Maybe Happy Ending,' receives a special contribution award. The ceremony features celebratory acts by crossover and K-pop artists, including pansori (traditional vocal storytelling) star Kim Junsu, rising K-pop group Recenne, and crossover group La Poem; winners and presenters — including well-known Korean actors and musicians — will attend a red-carpet event before the live stream on the 'Edaily Friends' YouTube channel.
