Musinsa to Multiply Overseas Sales Tenfold Next Year with China and Japan Expansion

Musinsa, Korea’s leading fashion platform, expects its global sales to grow 10x next year as it expands into China and Japan. The company is opening its first physical stores in China this month — a Musinsa Standard flagship and a Musinsa Store (a curated shop) in Shanghai’s busy Huaihai Road and Anfu Road districts — and plans at least three more Chinese outlets next year. Musinsa aims to reposition its Musinsa Standard brand in China from a domestic value-focused image to emphasize quality and K-style (K-fashion) appeal, targeting premium-seeking Chinese consumers. The firm projects next year’s global revenue to reach 10–20 billion KRW and has ambitious long-term goals: 1 trillion KRW in China sales and 100 stores by 2030, and 3 trillion KRW in global sales by 2030. Musinsa is expanding via a China joint venture and will open a Japan offline store in H2 next year after successful pop-ups in Tokyo (Shibuya). The moves follow strong domestic-to-China demand signals from its Seoul stores and partnership strategies with local operators in China and Japan.
