Burger King Korea Revamps Membership, Adds Top-Tier 'CROWN'

Burger King Korea announced a full overhaul of its membership program, introducing a new top tier called 'CROWN' (크라운) above the former 'KING' and reorganizing levels into CROWN, KING, WHOPPER, JUNIOR, and WELCOME. CROWN status is awarded to customers who spend at least 150,000 won in the past three months. The program expands earning methods beyond purchases: app check-ins, mission completion for badges, and friend referrals now accumulate 'Flame' (membership currency). The update adds gamified activities in-app to encourage engagement. New CROWN members receive a free Quattro Cheese Whopper set coupon and monthly 'My Pick' discount coupons (three discount + three drink coupons). 'My Pick' lets users choose personalized coupons based on their habits — for example, a 2,000 won discount on purchases over 10,000 won for big orders, or a 500 won discount on purchases over 5,000 won for single-item users; drink coupons let users pick between coffee and soda. Burger King says the changes aim to offer participatory, personalized rewards that better reflect individual tastes and shopping patterns.
