Mega MGC Coffee Opens 4,000th Store at Ilsan Lake Park

Mega MGC Coffee marked a milestone by opening its 4,000th store at Ilsan Lake Park in Goyang. The opening ceremony on Nov. 28 was attended by CEO Kim Dae-young, the new store owner Ahn Soo-hyun and about 50 employees. Since launching its first shop in Hongdae in 2015, the brand reached 1,000 stores in five years and 3,000 in nine years. Mega MGC has also seen success with seasonal dessert launches like the single-serve cup bingsu “Patbinggelato Parfait” (patbingsu: Korean shaved ice with sweet red bean) and “Yogur-gelato Choco Berry Mix” this year. Store owner Ahn, part of a multi-store family operation, currently runs 10 outlets with family members and aims to expand to 30; her family opened 15 new stores recently and transferred five to relatives. Mega MGC is also expanding overseas, including Mongolia where it has opened seven stores and served 100,000 cumulative customers.
