Ray, a Korean dental imaging company, is turning to integrated digital dental solutions to drive a comeback. The company reported 823 billion won in revenue through Q3 (up 24.7% year-on-year) and narrowed its operating loss significantly compared with last year. Ray’s flagship CBCT (cone-beam computed tomography) scanner, RAYQuantum, offers a wide field of view and fast reconstruction times for implant and orthodontic care. Building on this hardware, Ray has introduced complementary digital products — including RAYFACE (a rapid 3D facial scanner), the 5D Ray solution (which integrates CBCT, facial scans, intraoral scans and anatomical data to create an AI virtual patient), and RAYeTray (a fully digital workflow for edentulous patients) — that now make up 59% of sales. The company exports to over 70 countries (export ratio 92%) and is targeting US and European markets while commercializing RAYTeams, an IoT-enabled platform for cloud storage, web-based software, video conferencing and collaboration between clinics and dental labs. With these product expansions and strong overseas demand, Ray expects to recover full-year revenue into the 100-billion-won range and achieve an annual operating profit.
