KidZania, the global job-experience theme park, is holding its 2nd Children's Literature Award—created last year to honor Han Kang's Nobel Prize—this year in partnership with the Rural Development Administration’s education arm (농림수산식품교육문화정보원). The theme is “Lucky to Have Rice,” and children can submit writings on prompts such as “everyday happiness with rice,” “what rice means to me,” or “introducing rice to a foreign friend.” Submission runs from Dec 28 to Jan 28 at KidZania Seoul and Busan central plazas (entry forms provided on site). Ten winners will be chosen: one grand prize (gold spoon & fork set and trophy), two excellence prizes, and seven merit prizes (department store gift cards), and all winners receive a KidZania family pass for two. During the contest, visitors can join a surprise photo event by posting a photo from the central plaza photo zone to their personal SNS for a chance to win 10 family passes (winners announced on KidZania’s official Instagram in January). KidZania’s CEO said the contest is a small playground for children to discover stories and develop creativity by writing about daily life beginning with rice.
