Airbus ordered a major recall of A320-family jets after a software issue linked to a possible sudden descent was found during a U.S. probe. Rapid software updates by Airbus and many airlines limited global disruption: most European and North American routes operated normally, though some Asian and Latin American carriers faced cancellations and delays. About 6,000 aircraft were initially cited as affected; swift fixes reduced the number needing long repairs to roughly 100, officials said. In Korea, around 40 of 80 A320s required updates and most were completed quickly. Airbus CEO apologized and stressed safety as the priority. (A320: Airbus’s best-selling short-haul jet family)
