Hong Kong Star Chow Yun-fat Leads Moment of Silence at 2025 MAMA Awards

Hong Kong actor Chow Yun-fat attended the 2025 MAMA Awards at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong to present the 'Artist of the Year' award and asked the audience to observe a moment of silence for victims of a recent Hong Kong fire tragedy. Despite earlier reports that some Hong Kong stars might skip the ceremony, Chow appeared on stage while Michelle Yeoh (Yang Ziqiong) ultimately did not attend. Organizers altered the show’s direction, adding a ‘Support Hong Kong’ message and adjusting performances and staging to emphasize healing and solidarity through music. The ceremony featured performances by aespa, Stray Kids, G-Dragon (who won Artist of the Year), and others; Stray Kids won Album of the Year. Chow Yun-fat became visibly emotional during the tribute.
