The Busan Museum of Modern Art opened its 2025 platform exhibition “My Home Is Me,” exploring how Korean cities should be rebuilt amid population decline, urban shrinkage, aging, and changing care needs. The show features 10 pavilions across indoor and outdoor spaces that visitors walk through and interact with, presenting design strategies beyond simply “living small.” Projects by architects, artists, and collectives (e.g., Seoul Queer Collective) propose right-sized urbanism: mixed independence and solidarity in small homes, care-oriented distances as a planning standard, recyclable materials, manageable building scales, and spaces that reorganize memory, relationships, and rhythms as core urban structures. The museum also screens four architecture/urbanism films and offers programs including a talk “Can We Be Queer and Old?” (Seoul Queer Collective) and a performance about “care streets” in March. The exhibition runs through March 22, 2026.
