G-Dragon Wins Big at 2025 MAMA; Stray Kids Take Album of the Year, ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ Shines

At the 2025 MAMA Awards in Hong Kong, veteran artist G-Dragon won four awards including Artist of the Year and Best Male Dance Performance, and announced BigBang’s 20th anniversary group activity next year. Stray Kids took Album of the Year for their full-length album Karma, moved to tears accepting the prize. The ceremony paused for a moment of silence led by Hong Kong star Chow Yun-fat to mourn victims of a recent Hong Kong fire. Netflix’s hit anime K-Pop Demon Hunters (Kedehun) recreated its stage live, winning Music Visionary and Best OST awards; cast members and K-pop group BabyMonster performed as the fictional girl group Hentriks. A planned performance by the “Grim Reaper”-themed boy group Saja Boys was canceled amid sensitivity over the tragedy.
