Blue Elephant, a Korean (K-) eyewear brand, has opened a massive new flagship called Blue Elephant Space Seongsu in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong. The roughly 1,000-pyeong (pyeong: traditional Korean area unit) multi-level space features a 12-meter-diameter illuminated sphere art installation, performance area on the first floor, a sensory 'Active' sports line showcase on the second, a café with floor-to-ceiling windows on the third, and a rooftop for quiet views. The store houses more than 700 products across all of the brand’s lines — Basic, Exclusive and Active — and offers a Seongsu-only “Seoul Edition” collection that cannot be bought online or at other stores. Blue Elephant plans rapid expansion, already opening stores in Tokyo (Shinjuku) and separate Active shops in Myeongdong and Hongdae, with a Busan location and U.S. entry planned. The brand says Space Seongsu aims to be a new local landmark and a cultural, leisure and retail platform rather than a conventional eyewear shop.
