Musinsa, a leading Korean online fashion retailer, has signed a public-private agreement with Seongdong District to revitalize the Seoul Forest (Seoul Forest is a large urban park) shopping area and build a ‘K-Fashion cluster.’ The company will purchase or lease vacant storefronts near Seoul Forest and offer dedicated spaces to brands that want offline presence, expanding beyond the nearby Seongsu-dong neighborhood known for fashion and beauty. The collaboration follows local efforts to prevent gentrification and protect the community through a residents’ cooperative (a local cooperation body), and includes expanded support for small merchants and community-centered ESG initiatives. Officials say the plan aims for sustainable, community-friendly commercial growth while promoting K-fashion and K-beauty tourism draws.
