Changnyeong Onions Exported to Satsumasendai, Japan for First Time

Changnyeong County in South Gyeongsang Province has exported locally grown onions to Satsumasendai in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, marking the first time the sister city relationship has expanded into actual trade. A trial shipment of 1 ton came from a farmer associated with the Changnyeong Agricultural Exports Association. Officials said they will study Japanese market response and distribution channels, with plans to increase export volumes and seek other agricultural markets. The county emphasized this as the first practical economic exchange with its sister city and pledged administrative support to expand overseas sales.
