The 2025 Korea Paper Culture Art Competition awards ceremony, hosted by the Korea Paper Culture Art Competition Committee and co-organized by the Jonginara Museum (종이나라박물관), Paper Culture Foundation, and the World Origami Union, concluded successfully, affirming the international standing of K-origami. Over 150 attendees included committee chair Kim Jong-gyu and Jonginara leadership. Judges highlighted that entries showed paper sculpture as a rising part of K-culture, valuing creativity and global appeal over mere technique. Winners included elementary students Yoon Hyun-jung and Yoon Jung-chan for “Mutant Insects” (Children’s division), Kim Ji-yoon for “The Giving Tree” (Youth), seniors Lee Jin-hyun and Kim Young-ja for “Same Fold, Different Feeling” (new Senior division), and Lee Han-byul’s “Blooming with Color” (General division Grand Prize). In the international category, Nguyen Nam Son from Vietnam won the Culture Ministry prize. The award-winning works and past highlights are on display at the Jonginara Museum special exhibition through October 16 next year.
