As December’s cold approaches, demand for men’s outerwear in South Korea has risen sharply. Kolon FnC reports broad increases in outer sales in mid-November; its Series brand’s Air Trooper (inspired by the US Air Force N3B parka) saw a 300% year‑on‑year sales jump. The Air Trooper features 9010 goose down fill and an ultra‑light down bag for warmth without bulk. French‑style brand IRO recorded a 168% monthly sales increase, led by jumpers such as the Flâneur cashmere‑blend wool hooded jumper (half‑length with hood) whose jumper category sales rose 191%. Lifestyle company LF’s premium strategy for its Jill Stuart New York line—raising the share of luxury materials across coats, paddings, and moutons (mouton: sheepskin fur coat)—helped boost men’s outer sales about 40% through Nov. 1–26. Cashmere‑blend balmacaan coats and imported suede goose‑down pieces posted strong sell‑through rates. Retailers say demand is growing across lightweight layered pieces to windproof, high‑insulation down outerwear, and expect further expansion when the deep freeze begins in December.
