Premium distilled soju maker Hwayo has launched a 2026 Lunar New Year limited edition, 'Hwayo53 Red Horse Edition', created in collaboration with illustrator Heuk Yeo-seok (real name: Woo Na-young). The design celebrates the Year of the Red Horse with bold male imagery on the bottle that strokes the red horse—symbolizing ascent, leap, and good fortune—and a softer female figure on the cylindrical package representing embrace and inclusiveness. Hwayo53 is the brand’s highest-proof product at 53% ABV, made from 100% rice using vacuum distillation and aged in earthenware for 180 days to concentrate flavor while preserving a smooth finish. Hwayo positions this release as both a cultural object and art piece that blends traditional Korean aesthetics with contemporary K-art storytelling to promote 'K-spirit'.
