Daejeon-based local brand Kongdeushu, which modernizes traditional fried soybean snack (콩튀김), has begun exporting its signature products—‘chapssal kongbugak’ and the 30g ‘kongppugak’ series—to India and Hong Kong. The deals followed participation in international fairs, buyer meetings and tasting promotions; Hong Kong contract was signed with GETHEMALL HK LTD and Indian supply was arranged via distributor Boseong Specialty Trade. Kongdeushu’s patented method coats soybeans twice with glutinous rice (찹쌀) for a crisp, milder texture, creating a snack that appeals across ages. The brand offers diverse flavors (wasabi mayo, spicy cheese, sweet cheese, corn, onion) and varieties including black- and white-soybean options, gift sets and larger 60g lines, plus new chocolate versions and character merchandise—positioning the company as a modern “enjoyable tradition” brand. Kongdeushu plans further expansion across Asia and parts of the Middle East, with localized flavors and wider distribution. The sister storefront ‘Kongppugak’ in Daejeon’s Seonhwa-dong provides a photo-friendly space to sample 16 varieties and buy goods, helping elevate the snack to a K-food trend item.
