VietJet Thailand celebrated the arrival of the first Boeing 737-8 from a 50-aircraft order due for delivery by 2028. The carrier said the 737-8, with a maximum range of 6,570 km, will support expansion of both domestic and international routes and help the airline grow long-haul and Asia-Pacific services. CEO Woranate Laprabang called the delivery a strategic milestone for VietJet Thailand’s bid to be a leading low-cost carrier in the region. The airline expects the new jets to strengthen Thailand’s position as an ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) aviation hub by improving connections to key destinations like Tokyo, Osaka, Cam Ranh, and Nha Trang. The Boeing Sky Interior offers improved lighting, larger overhead bins, and a quieter, more spacious cabin (Boeing Sky Interior). VietJet also highlighted fuel-efficiency and environmental gains: advanced aerodynamics and use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) could cut carbon emissions by 15–20% and reduce noise by up to 50%.
