VietJet Thailand received its first Boeing 737-8 on Nov. 23, the first of 50 aircraft planned by 2028, marking a key step in its long-term growth strategy. The 737-8 will boost route expansion, operational efficiency, and passenger comfort with Boeing Sky Interior, and offers up to 15–20% better fuel efficiency, lower carbon emissions, and reduced noise. The plane’s 6,570 km range enables new international services; routes to Tokyo, Osaka and Incheon are under consideration for early deployment. VietJet Thailand expects to start commercial service on the Bangkok–Chiang Mai domestic route, with international deployments slated for late 2025 or early 2026. The airline plans to hire over 5,000 staff across flight, engineering, ground and corporate roles as it grows its low-cost carrier (LCC) network across Asia, strengthening Thailand’s role as an aviation hub.
