Prime Minister Kim Min-seok visited Kia AutoLand Gwangju on November 26, touring the plant’s second factory that builds the Sportage — a global bestseller produced in Gwangju since 2004 at about 900 units per day. The Gwangju plant accounts for roughly 30% of the region’s manufacturing output, making it a key engine of the local economy. Accompanied by Gwangju Mayor Kang Ki-jung, Kim inspected production lines and discussed issues including the Gwangju future car (future mobility) national complex and Gwangju Global Motors.
