The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in South Korea has selected Paju city as the new area for the 'Barrier-Free Tourism Connectivity Enhancement Project.' The project aims to create a seamless travel environment for individuals with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, and families with infants by connecting various facilities and services such as transportation, accommodation, and shopping. This initiative will be implemented over three years. Paju's attractions, such as DMZ tours and Heyri Art Village, will focus on inclusive tourism. The city's future accessibility will be bolstered by improved transportation, like the GTX line. The ministry plans to contribute $40 million to the effort by 2027 to enhance Paju's tourism appeal and accessibility.
