Despite weak domestic demand, two Korean apparel brands are poised to reach annual sales of 1 trillion won. SPA brand TopTen (탑텐) is expected to exceed 1 trillion won this year after aggressive expansion of offline stores—its outlets grew from 664 to 677—helping account for 90% of sales. TopTen also uses big data and AI to forecast demand and optimize inventory; a recent discount event, “TenTen Day,” generated over 100 billion won in sales. Homegrown casual brand HAZZYS (헤지스) will also cross the 1 trillion mark thanks to strong overseas performance, with China, Taiwan and Russia showing double-digit growth. HAZZYS now has about 580 stores in China and plans a Shanghai flagship; it has opened stores in Moscow and is adjusting sizing and color lines by market (e.g., larger sizes for Russia, brighter colors for Vietnam). Both brands are expanding international footprints—HAZZYS aims for India next year—signaling renewed momentum for Korean fashion exports.
