Samsung Foundation will hold an ‘ESG Exchange Program for Cultural and Arts Institutions’ on the 27th at the Leeum Museum auditorium in Seoul. About 50 practitioners from cultural organizations, local and regional cultural foundations, and recycling agencies will share sustainable management strategies. The event opens with a keynote by Seoul National University environmental expert Yoon Soon-jin on citizen and institutional actions for the climate crisis. Three sessions follow: 1) Zero Energy Building (ZEB) policies and sustainable space design (presented by Korea Energy Agency) covering building energy load reduction and renewable use; 2) waste reduction and resource-circulation practices with case studies from partners including Yuhan-Kimberly’s “ByCycle campaign” (paper towel recycling), Isoonhwan Governance’s electronic waste collection program “ESG Sharing All-Clear”, and the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture’s costume and prop sharing platform “Re-stage Seoul”; and 3) citizen-led carbon neutrality efforts presented by the Environmental Foundation and The Forest for Life, featuring participatory campaigns and forest conservation. Pre-registration is required via the Leeum Museum website; attendees receive eco-friendly goods, and a public-transportation proof campaign will give souvenirs to the first 100 participants. Samsung Foundation emphasized gradual, practical steps to reduce greenhouse gases and has advanced sustainability since 2021 through exhibition waste reduction, resource-circulation activities, sign-language video guides (수어해설), special visits for people with disabilities, regional tours, and cultural heritage support.
