Barunson reported cumulative third-quarter revenue of 51.3 billion KRW, up 5% year-on-year, and operating profit of 670 million KRW, maintaining profitability after a positive first half. The growth was driven mainly by its K-beauty global platform Jolse, which serves around 800,000 members and directly sells about 30,000 SKUs from 250 brands to customers in roughly 180 countries across North America, South America and Europe. The beauty division accounted for 78.3% of group revenue (40.1 billion KRW, up 16.1% year-on-year) and posted a sharp rise in operating profit to 1.2 billion KRW. Improvements in SEO-based online advertising efficiency and a self-developed “electronic scale-linked automated shipping system” (전자저울 연계 배송 자동화 시스템) that enables immediate dispatch on order helped boost margins to about 3% and improve logistics efficiency. Barunson says it will continue focusing on K-beauty as a growth pillar, investing in innovation to strengthen its business portfolio and profitability.
