Busan's Gijang County Wins National Local Government PR Award in Tourism

Gijang County in Busan won the tourism grand prize at the 2nd Korea Local Government PR Awards. The awards, organized by the Korean Media & Video Education Foundation and the Korea Local Government PR Awards Committee, honored outstanding video content from municipalities across the country in categories including policy/administration and culture/tourism. Gijang submitted a promotional video titled “Nature, Healing, and Fun—A Sensory Satisfaction, Gijang,” which highlights the county’s scenic "Gijang 8 Views" and the O’siria (Osiria) tourism complex and links key attractions through storytelling. Judges praised the film for vividly portraying Gijang as a place where nature, culture, and leisure coexist and for presenting a vision for sustainable future tourism. Mayor Jeong Jong-bok said the award proves Gijang’s status as a tourism city and pledged to continue developing distinctive tourism infrastructure and promotional content.
