SeAH Sangsuk, a subsidiary of Global SeAH Group, was selected as a 2025 UNGC (United Nations Global Compact) Lead Group member for exemplary global ESG (environmental, social, governance) practices. The UNGC, a worldwide initiative with some 25,000 companies and institutions across 167 countries, promotes the adoption of its 10 principles covering human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. Since joining UNGC last year, SeAH Sangsuk has embedded these principles into corporate culture and published a Communication on Progress (COP). The company elevated its sustainability team in 2023 to report directly to the CEO, secured SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) approval—the first in Korea’s textile sector—and joined the Fashion Forever Green Pact (FSC) to advance industry ESG transition. Its WinTextile affiliate halted coal use at Indonesian facilities, switching to 100% biomass fuels to reach a ‘Coal-Zero’ goal early. SeAH also earned A-List status in the CDP 2024 supply chain assessment and became the first domestic firm certified by Better Cotton across yarn, fabric, and finished goods. UNGC Korea annually names 10 lead companies that best advance the 10 principles and the SDGs; this year’s list includes SeAH Sangsuk, POSCO, and Yuhan-Kimberly.
