Kim Bok-hee Returns with 'Reincarnational Macbeth' — A Korean Modern Dance Reimagining

Kim Bok-hee, a pioneer of Korean contemporary dance and professor emeritus at Hanyang University, unveils her first new work in five years, "Reincarnational Macbeth," on Nov. 22–23 at the Daehangno Arts Theater in Jongno, Seoul. Inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the piece translates the play’s psychological depths and the flow of life into movement, based on the choreographer’s analysis of Macbeth across the original text and its various adaptations. The Kim Bok-hee Dance Company will also perform her signature work "U-dambara" (우담바라, a symbolic flower in Korean culture).
