Children Lead Policy-Making and Performances at Seoul Dream Festival on 22nd

Seoul will host the 2025 Seoul Children’s Dream Festival on the 22nd at City Hall’s multipurpose hall. Around 350 children and family members will take part in events where children lead policy-making and creative performances. The Seoul Children’s Policy Participation Group, formed through public recruitment, involved 47 children over five months in discussions and field visits to propose child-centered policies such as barrier-free ramps for mobility-impaired people, tiered account suspensions for cyberbullying perpetrators, and an app to reduce waste. Six top proposals will be presented and awarded after expert judging, and the city plans to review ideas for possible adoption. The festival also features the “Imagination Play” performance contest with videos from five districts (including choir, dance, and jump-rope music), plus child-focused cultural programs like recreation, K-pop dance, and art balloon shows. Seoul officials say they will continue efforts to ensure all children grow up respected and happy.
