Arko Art Museum opens “In Situ” (Latin: in the original place) on the 20th, running until Jan 18, 2026, showcasing work by 10 resident artists from the Arko Artist Studios. The exhibition recreates studio spaces in the museum to highlight the creative process and the studio as a place of staying and transformation. The first-term (June–Sept) artists on the ground floor include Son Su-min (Korea) and Yun Hyang-ro (Korea), plus international artists such as Walter Thornberg (Finland), Bui Bao Tram (Vietnam), and Yusuke Taninaka (Japan), presenting works from audience-participation pieces and video to canvases recording sensory landscapes and symbols like the Korean magpie (까치). The second-term (Oct–Jan) works on the second floor feature artists including Park Jeong-hye (Korea), Seo Hee (Korea), Katarzyna Mazur (Poland), Christian Schwarz (Austria), and Ugo Mendes (Mozambique), exploring urban wireless landscapes, objects within systems, diasporic experience, personal and national memory in photography, and reinterpretations of Mozambican craft. Related programs include an artist talk (21st) and a residency roundtable in Jan 2026. Arko’s director describes the show as a meaningful confirmation of the museum’s role as a platform supporting domestic and international artistic creation and exchange.
