Musinsa Helps Mobility with Custom Orthopedic Shoes

Musinsa, South Korea’s largest online fashion platform, is expanding community support beyond clothing. As part of its ‘MUVE (Musinsa for Your Move Freely)’ project, the company funded the handcrafted production of 10 pairs of custom orthopedic shoes for people with walking difficulties. The shoes, made at a specialized orthopedic shoe workshop in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong, require precise measurements and manual work, costing over 900,000 KRW per pair. Musinsa partnered with Seongdong District Office and the Milal Welfare Foundation to select recipients from several Seoul and Gyeonggi areas, including teenagers in growth periods and adults up to their 70s. A beneficiary reported reduced pain and improved walking balance after receiving the shoes. Musinsa previously supported accessibility improvements such as installing ramps for small businesses and says it will continue collaborating with organizations and experts to help mobility-impaired people engage more easily with their communities.
