The 5th Seoul Urban Architecture Biennale, held Sept. 26–Nov. 18 under the theme “Radically More Human,” attracted 811,799 in-person visitors and 7.62 million online views during its 54-day run. Launched in 2017 and held biennially, the event showcased about 400 projects, expanded citizen-participation activities (drawing, workshops, architect talks) and featured popular thematic exhibitions like the “Humanise Wall” and “Walls of Public Life.” Around 12,000 people joined 20 hands-on public programs. More than 2,300 reports from media in about 20 countries (including the U.S., Canada, Germany, France, Spain, the U.K., and China) highlighted its international reach. Seoul officials said they will build on these results to prepare the 6th biennale in 2027 and strengthen Seoul’s role as a global platform for people-centered urban design.
