National Museum and Presidential Committee Partner to Make 13 Regional Museums Cultural Hubs

The National Museum of Korea and the Presidential Committee for the Local Era signed a cooperation agreement on the sidelines of the 2025 Korea Local Era Expo in Ulsan to promote balanced national development and revitalize regional culture. The National Museum oversees 13 regional national museums, and the committee is a control tower for the government’s “5 hubs, 3 special” (5극 3특) national balance strategy. The partnership commits to joint projects, exhibitions, education, research, and promotion to reduce cultural disparities between regions, improve living conditions, develop locally rooted cultural content, and strengthen policy support so the 13 regional museums can serve as cultural centers in their communities.
