Park Jin-heung, grandson of painter Park Soo-keun, presents his solo exhibition "Light That Conceals Light; Shadows Born from Radiance" at Seoul’s Alle Gallery until the 22nd. Moving beyond his long study of the Jungian concept of the shadow, Park explores a new visual language of light to investigate inner transformation. The show traces his shift from working in dark, textured materials (matière) and focusing on rest and meditation to a decisive confrontation with light—symbolized by the artist "throwing away the umbrella and facing light directly." Layered images of light and tree shadows on canvas visualize dualities of reveal/conceal and presence/absence; here, light functions not as enlightenment but as a medium that can hide other light. The works highlight the special status of tree shadows in this paradoxical exploration.
