South Korea’s aT (Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation) achieved $14.53 million in 18 MOUs and on-site contracts during the 2025 Jakarta International Food Expo, aimed at expanding K-food into Indonesia—the world’s largest halal market. aT organized an integrated Korea pavilion with 24 exporters and three fruit cooperatives showcasing kimchi, noodles, sauces, drinks and more, and held cooking shows featuring bulgogi, kimchijeon (savory kimchi pancake), japchae (stir-fried glass noodles), dakgangjeong (sweet fried chicken), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and honey pear ade. Recipe booklets were distributed and prearranged buyer meetings with national and regional retailers helped generate concrete business deals. aT emphasized adapting to Indonesia’s evolving halal certification requirements and pledged continued support for Korean food companies to enter local markets; K-food exports to Indonesia through October reached $203 million, with instant noodles, alcoholic beverages, ginseng products and kimchi showing notable growth.
